Tales of the Lincoln woodlands

About the book

Tales of the Lincoln Woodlands: Trees have feelings and don't always want to be chopped down. What about the birds and animals? Where would they shelter? So the trees did something about it.

The Tree House: Morc and Minty get bored easily, but when there is a tree house to play in they have lots of fun.

Slinky and the Hunt: Foxes get hunted by huntsmen on horses and dogs, so Slinky hides. But can all his animal friends save him again.

Jolly Jelly: Jolly Jelly, the jellyfish, is trapped in the river. Can all the animals help him to escape?

Trouble at the Lake: Even when all the animals are having fun they are called on to help. The two dogs, Morc and Minty could swim. Maybe the two boys would have drowned if the animals had not heard their cries.

No Picnic Today: The animals are horrified to find that picnicers leave so much rubbish. Their heads could get stuck in empty tins and bottles and they could die. A good tidy up was needed.

An extract from the book

Suddenly there was a rustling in the leaves and there was a panting Lorenzo followed by Matilda. Lorenzo could hardly get his breath. "It's Slinky. The Hunt always chase foxes and are after him. He's hiding in a ditch but they'll get him, I know they will". Lorenzo was quite hysterical. Matilda was crying as usual. She was only a little mouse and was always so afraid.
