An extract from the book

Rory picked up the rose, holding it gently, the petals so perfect they could have been made of wax. How could he have got it so wrong? He should have been the bridegroom, not Joel. They had been at school together, the three of them. They had grown up together - parties, dancing, cycling, walking. In due course he would propose to Becky, and they would marry, have a family, and spend the rest of their lives together. But first he had to concentrate on his career.
